Stitch Fix #3 Review - What a Dud

When I received my 2nd Fix in November, I loved all the pieces!  But it was all summery stuff and it was November.  In St. Louis!  Hello!!!  I don't really feel like I should have to tell Stitch Fix what the season is where I live.  They should be able to figure it out from my profile.  (I've noticed from reading other reviews that this is a reoccurring problem.)

So, when I scheduled my third fix (for January), I specified that I wanted winter pieces...sweaters and cardigans.  I have a Stitch Fix Pinterest Board with tons of pins of outfits and pieces what I like, but it most not have clearly indicated what I wanted!

The Box!  Who doesn't love getting that in the mail?

Opening the loveliness! (With the help of DD.)

Olive & Oak Arrington Contrast Trim Sweater  $68
When I saw the neckline peeking out of the tissue, I was ecstatic.  The colors!  Soft, shiny, slivery gray and turquoise.  Love! Simple, but a little different.  I noticed that it had a loose weave, so I checked for a "Don't try on with jewelry" tag and didn't see one.  So on it went.  Loved it.  Keeping for sure!

Sadly, when I put this back on after trying everything on, I noticed this:
My ring caught that loose weave I was talking about.  Boo! - Back it goes!

Ellison Cordelia Striped Boat Neck Sweater  $58
I thought this was okay.  Pretty plain and it seems like I could find something similar at pretty much every store I shop at.  And at those stores in wouldn't be $58, which I don't think is that much for a nice sweater, but this was not special enough and made of acrylic.  No thanks.  And the sleeves were too short, which you can't really tell in the pic.  (The cuffs were sewn up, I didn't fold them.)

RD Style Trinity Raglan Knit Hi-Lo Sweater Tunic  $68
No, just no.  The color doesn't seem bad here, but how boring and bland, especially in January.  Also, this fit like a glove, which probably would have worked if it weren't for the hi lo.  It did not look good over my rear!  The tightness and hi lo aspects did not work together.  At least not on me.  Ugh.

                                   The rear view - Yuck!

RD Style McComas Drape Front Cardigan  $68
This had potential coming out of the box, but no, not going to work.  It hangs funny, is made out of really gross acrylic and one side was larger than the other.  (I own lots of acrylic, but I'm not paying $68 for acrylic that isn't a nice acrylic.)  I got two sweaters in this fix from RD Style and I'm not impressed.  The quality just wasn't there.  This sweater just seems frumpy.

Just Black Adora Skinny Jean  $88
Nope!  They look alright in this pic, but look closely - you can see the muffin top!  While these weren't the wrong size, they hit in just the wrong place.  They were too low rise for my high hips.  There were a beautiful color though!

I returned everything - disappointing.  The clothes in this fix were just not right.  So that night, I went to Nordstrom and got a ton of sweaters that I love!
